About the Role
Our Energy & Utilities business has an opportunity for a Pre-Contract Commercial & Risk Lead to work closely with the Head of Commercial & Risk and operations to improve Commercial and contract management discipline.
- Provide support to Bid Teams by being a conduit between Operations, Legal, Insurance, Tax and Treasury.
- Undertake reviews of the contract terms and conditions and preparing appropriate tender qualifications in line with the Company contracting limits policy.
- Facilitate risk and opportunity workshops, helping identify risks and opportunities and their respective mitigations whilst ensuring they are communicated to, and understood by, stakeholders in the Company (Bid Team, Operations and Governance Committee).
- Lead Client contract negotiations for the resolution of tender qualifications.
- Support Bid Teams with handover of successful Bids to Operations to ensure Project Team Members are aware of all key Commercial and Risk positions.
- Escalation point for Project Team Members, where guidance is required on the contract or where disputes arise.
About You
- Degree qualification, preferably in construction law however construction management, engineering or finance may be considered with relevant experience.
- Experience performing contract reviews and identification of commercial qualifications.
- Experience working with bid teams and an understanding of the project lifecycle.
- Ability to build strong relationships and networks with key stakeholders whilst working collaboratively across a diverse and complex environment.
- Ability to bring people together, build relationships and manage conflict in a diplomatic and professional manner.
- High attention to detail, resilient, adaptable, and able to take initiative.
- Superior communication capabilities, with the ability to inform, negotiate and influence at all levels.
- Naturally self-driven, proactive, and inquisitive, with desire to understand a broad range of commercial issues.
