The role is based at our brand-new offices in Osborne Park, and this opportunity comes with full-time salary, Uncapped commissions, flexible working arrangements, and other bonuses, including an allowance for your very own solar battery system. 

Overview: 

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Commercial Solar Business Development Lead to join our team. The Commercial Solar BD Lead is responsible for driving the growth of our commercial/SME solar and battery sales. This role involves developing sales strategies, managing client relationships, and closing deals to expand our market share and ensure the successful sale and deployment of solar and battery energy systems to commercial entities. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Develop and execute sales strategies to meet or exceed sales targets in the commercial/SME solar sales channel. 
  • Identify and cultivate new business opportunities by engaging with potential clients through networking, referrals and other leads.  
  • Lead larger Business Development initiatives, for example, large development projects (which may include residential-sized systems) 
  • Conduct site assessments and energy audits to create customised solar solutions tailored to client needs. 
  • Prepare Commercial/SME Solar and Battery designs and work with Partner Engineers and the Network Operator when required. 
  • Prepare and deliver persuasive presentations and proposals to convince potential clients of the benefits of solar energy systems. 
  • Negotiate contract terms and conditions with clients and stakeholders. 
  • Collaborate with the project management/operations team to ensure seamless project delivery and client satisfaction. 
  • Stay updated with industry trends, regulatory changes, and competitive landscape to adapt strategies accordingly. 
  • Manage customer relationships throughout the project lifecycle and ensure a high level of customer satisfaction to encourage repeat business and referrals. 
  • Report sales activities, pipeline, and forecast information to the CEO, CTO and HOO. 
  • Educate clients and the public on commercial/SME renewable energy solutions through workshops, seminars, and other outreach initiatives. 

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, Engineering, Electrical or a related field. 
  • Proven experience in sales, specifically in the solar or renewable energy sector. 
  • Strong understanding of Commercial Solar and battery systems, including technical specifications, SAA design Accreditation, and financial aspects. 
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. 
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong professional relationships with clients, peers, and management. 
  • Proficient in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite. 
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. 

Preferred Skills: 

  • Experience with financial modelling and analysis of energy savings and design of solar systems. 
  • Technical knowledge of photovoltaic (PV) and BESS systems and installation. 
  • Certification or training in solar energy or renewable energy systems. 

Compensation: 

Excellent base salary + uncapped commissions + performance bonuses for your efforts on exceeding sales targets and KPIs.
