As a Commis Chef, you'll become a vital member of our culinary team, working alongside seasoned senior chefs. This position allows you to express your deep passion for food, unleash your creativity, and contribute to a collaborative team effort in creating dishes that make a lasting impression.
Requirements
- Solid background in kitchen operations
- Follow recipes for menu preparation, ensuring adherence to cooking guidelines and standards
- Execute food preparation tasks, showcasing expertise in food presentation
- Maintain consistent cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kitchen area
- Ensure WHS compliance, displaying a strong commitment to meeting Food Safety standards. This involves conducting temperature and quality checks and effectively managing cross-contamination
- Exhibit excellent communication skills and honed time management skills
- Demonstrate passion and enthusiasm for working in a fast-paced environment
- Flexibility to a work a variety of shifts over a 7 day a week roster including morning, days and nights
- Reliable own transport as some shifts are not supported by public transport to and/or from the airport
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Commis Chef is advantageous
- Minimum Certificate 3 in Commercial Cookery, or currently undertaking
- Food Safety Certificate or willing to obtain at onboarding
