About the role
- The role will be based at their new research and development facility, and report into the Commissioning Manager
- Support the project teams through the different phases of build completion and commissioning as per commissioning management plan.
Responsibilities
- Promote safety within rolling stock commissioning activities and verify that safety procedures are implemented and followed
- Lead execution of the Commissioning Management Plan phases and tollgates.
- Review the commissioning readiness by prototype/project
- Support and assist build verification, pre-commissioning and commissioning phases of the prototypes/projects
- Assist and support discipline Ready for Commissioning (RFC) status to completion of the commissioning activities
- Oversee the inspection and testing of rolling stock items through the commissioning phases
- Collaborate with key stakeholders on the project to ensure we meet the requirements of the Office of the National Rail Safety Regulator (ONRSR).
- Ensure the key stakeholders are notified at the key commissioning milestones of energisation for rolling stock prototypes
- Ensure rail prototypes pre-commissioning and commissioning spare parts, consumables, equipment, special tools etc are sufficient and available in time
- Assist and support vendor requirements for pre-commissioning and commissioning
- Supervise and support the reporting of commissioning execution to ensure that all technical, contractual information is properly recorded, collected and available for inspection/reference as required by law regulations, company policies and company procedures
Experience/Requirements
- Trade qualified
- Minimum 5 years of commissioning experience in rail rolling stock
- Demonstrate experience in leading a team
- Willing to support and mentor personnel with limited commissioning experience to enable succession planning
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Proficient in Excel, Word and outlook
- Demonstrate experience in working with Completion Management Systems (CMS)
