About the Role
The Committee Governance Officer consults with various stakeholders both internal and external to the organisation to ensure that contributions to the Committee Secretariat function meet expected timelines and reporting requirements. The role will work with the Corporate Committee Convener and consult across the organisation to ensure that best practice methodologies are included in the framework.
Functional Accountabilities include:
- Design, implement and regularly maintain the Committee Governance intranet site to ensure that current information is available, accessible and communicated;
- Schedule and monitor all meetings through the Committee Governance Outlook Calendar and maintain and monitor the Committee Governance mailbox;
- Coordinate and extend invitations to external invitees including Ministers, Chairs and CEO's of other organisations and government agencies;
- Actively contribute to FRV governance related initiatives and activities, this may include but not be limited to internal and external reviews, audits, business assurance projects and fire services reform initiatives;
- Conduct regular project work relating to the various committees and corporate secretariat function by working with key stakeholders including the Fire Rescue Commissioner, members of the Executive Leadership Team and other Senior Leaders.
What you will need to Succeed
- Previous experience in a similar position with demonstrated experience in managing executive level committees;
- An appreciation for confidential matters and discretion, along with high levels of professionalism;
- The ability to work with all levels of the organisation, establishing robust relationships with senior stakeholders to ensure effective information flow between the Fire Rescue Commissioner, Executive Leadership Team and committee members and management;
- Proficient in all Microsoft office products and have experience with Diligent;

FRV’s standard practice is to appoint at the base of the salary range, however consideration will be given to an above base salary within the advertised range based on the successful candidate’s skills and experience.
