Job description:
The Communications and Engagement Officer’s key responsibility is to provide considered and specialised advice to the Director, Education, Engagement and Policy on a range of matters relating to the communications and Engagement strategy for the Office of the Independent Regulator (the Office).

Period of Appointment
Fixed term for 24 months
Hours per fortnight
73.50 hours per fortnight - flexible options available.
Duties
Responsible for the development of high-quality publications, resources and other initiatives, utilising online applications including webinar software and e-learning platforms to disseminate the key messages of the Office.
Contribute to the development of the Communication and Engagement strategies of the Office as part of the team led by the Director, Education, Engagement and Policy.
Work collaboratively as part of the team to deliver outcomes related to organisational practices to keep children and young people in Tasmania safe from harm when receiving services from organisations and institutions.
Keep abreast of the latest research on relevant matters for the preparation of correspondence, briefings, presentations, media releases and speech notes for the Independent Regulator and their Deputies.
Perform other duties as envisaged by the assigned classification under the relevant award and in accordance with the skills, competence and training of the occupant as required.
Essential Requirements
Employment to the Office is subject to the satisfactory completion of security and related vetting including satisfactory a current Tasmanian Working with Vulnerable Persons Check (WWVP)

Desirable Requirements
Tertiary qualifications in communications or journalism or demonstrated work experience in relevant field.
