The Communication and Marketing Coordinator supports the General Manager of Marketing & Community to maximise the promotion and engagement of Athletics West’s events, media, programs and products.
The position plays a key role in the day-to-day coordination, planning and creation of Communication and Marketing assets.
Core Responsibilities- Create engaging content for Athletics West’s media platforms, including written, video and graphic design content;
- Manage Athletics West's social media accounts;
- Manage the Athletics West website and e-newsletter;
- Work closely with the General Manager of Marketing & Community to achieve key KPIs and objectives;
- Report on KPIs and objectives for the Athletics West board.
- Coordinate and oversee the Athletics West content calendar to ensure a consistent and timely flow of content across various digital and traditional channels.
- Coordinate and oversee the Athletics West website to ensure a consistent and timely flow of information;
- Design and create digital content for multiple platforms, including email, website and social media channels, especially media releases and web articles.
- Coordinate the design and creation of marketing assets for Athletics West events and other business initiatives.
- Support the Marketing & Community Team in capturing relevant content at major Athletics West events.
- Provide analytic support to the General Manager of Marketing & Community to generate monthly data reports on Athletics West’s Communication;
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure content is aligned with the company’s branding and messaging.
- Assist in the delivery of partnership obligations for designated initiatives;
- Identify and implement opportunities for partners to leverage their relationship with athletics together and with one another;
- Any other duties within the Employee's capabilities and which is reasonable to expect the Employee to undertake as directed by the General Manager of Marketing & Community or CEO from time to time.
- Relevant Tertiary Qualification (Communications, Marketing, PR) or equivalent work experience;
- Knowledge and demonstrated experience using Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator)
- Demonstrated experience in photography, filming, and editing.
- The ability to plan and prioritise work and maximise the use of internal and external resources to achieve outcomes;
- Strong communication skills, attention to detail and ability to elicit cooperation from and work with a range of people/stakeholders;
- Excellent presentation skills;
- Strong competencies in Information Technology including advanced skills with MS Office;
- Strong customer service and stakeholder relationship management experience;
- Ability to work independently and as part of a broader team;
- Preparedness to be flexible with respect to work hours;
- A current “C” class WA driver’s license;
- National police clearance; and
- Working with Children Check.
Desirable Criteria
- Experience in project management across diverse and complex strategic and operational projects;
- Knowledge of the sport of athletics;
- An understanding of the community sports landscape in WA.
A salary package of $60,000 to $70,000 plus superannuation will be negotiated with the successful applicant depending on the level of experience.
