About the Role:
We are seeking experienced Communication Engineers who are eager to embrace an independent consulting role across multiple high-profile railway system projects in Western Australia's Metronet program. Ideal for results-oriented professionals, this position offers the chance to fast-track your expertise and consultant profile through synergistic roles within the program, prioritizing flexibility, and high earning potential over traditional job security.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide expert client-side support and commissioning assistance for railway systems including LLPA, CCTV, Passenger Information Systems, and Transmission Systems.
Ensure technical deliverables meet project specifications and quality standards.
Work independently across multiple projects, delivering tailored and expert solutions to each client.
Time Commitment:
Involvement can be on one, or the two project, based on skills, motivation and fit with the team.
- 16-25 hours per week through December 2025 – Client-side project (All Comms systems above )
- Additional 10-20 hours per week for commissioning support up to December 2024 – Contractor side (Support for LLPA commissioning - Training and support provided by the rest of the team)
Required Qualifications/Experience/Working rights:
Minimum of 5-10 years’ experience in Engineering or 15+ years as a Technician in Communications Engineering, System Engineering, Railway systems or equivalent.
Demonstrated ability to work independently in an unsupervised environment.
Strong technical knowledge and hands-on experience in commissioning and maintaining advanced communication systems.
Experience in Railway systems, or complex AV systems commissioning, design, or maintenance is ideal.
Experience with the Public Transport Authority of Western Australia, or Metronet Program highly regarded.
Working rights over the duration of the project(s).
