Job description

Communication and Stakeholder Engagement Manager

Maximum Term Contract Full Time - 36.25 hours per week - until 30/06/2028 

$118,709.69 to $134,066.50 + up to 12% super  

RCC Officers' Level 8 + partial private use of Council vehicle or vehicle allowance

Redland City Council is seeking a Communications and Stakeholder Engagement Manager to develop, implement, and coordinate organisational strategies that ensure a consistent enterprise-wide approach to strategic communications, marketing, and engagement outcomes across our multi-year digital transformation program and related projects.

Guided By Our Values, Your Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Communications, Marketing and Engagement: Lead, plan, deliver, and evaluate a broad range of proactive, integrated, cost-effective communication, marketing, and engagement strategies that inform and engage employees and the community about digital transformation and significant enterprise change projects.
  • Stakeholder Management: Work alongside Council’s internal Communication, Engagement and Tourism group to develop and implement strategies ensuring employees and the community are informed about the progress of the Digital Transformation Program.
  • Information Management and Progress Reporting: Manage the communication, marketing, and engagement responsibilities for the Enterprise Change unit. Prepare and deliver high-level advice, briefing notes, reports, and presentations to the Executive Leadership Team and Stakeholders.
  • Portfolio Management: Identify and manage Communication and engagement risks at the digital program/portfolio level. Manage budgets and resourcing plans related to communications, marketing, and engagement activities.
  • Leadership and Capability: Play a lead role in maturing Council’s centre-led approach to organisational communication, marketing, and engagement.

What You Will Bring:

  • Significant achievement in developing and delivering communication, marketing, and engagement strategies in a large, complex organisation.
  • Demonstrated expertise in Stakeholder Engagement from both employee and customer/community perspectives.
  • High-level achievement in implementing integrated marketing, communication, and engagement activities, ideally with significant digital transformation and/or enterprise change components.
  • Outstanding creative thinking and writing skills, with proven ability to apply contemporary communications, marketing, and engagement tactics using digital platforms and traditional channels.
  • Highly developed interpersonal, presentation, facilitation, and negotiation skills, including the ability to influence and collaborate with internal stakeholders at all organisational levels and external audiences.
  • Proven ability to manage and execute marketing, communication, and Stakeholder Engagement needs at a portfolio level.
  • Expertise in preparing and presenting high-level portfolio advice and information.
  • Ability to identify, evaluate, and apply mitigating controls to Communication and engagement risks and issues.

Eligibility:

  • Qualifications in organisational communications, public relations, marketing or community engagement, or equivalent relevant experience.
