The Communications Adviser supports the Community Education and Engagement Manager with sourcing and producing content for the Parliament’s communication channels to enhance the Parliament’s community engagement initiatives. The role ultimately assists with the delivery of a quality community education and engagement service to Members of Parliament, staff of the Parliament, the Department of Education and the public.
The role is responsible for administrative maintenance and content production for social media platforms, the community education office intranet and website. The role will assist with basic graphic design work, document publication, data collection and supervised strategic planning for future communication initiatives.
The role may assist with hosting tours, handling public queries related to tours of parliament house and managing public mailboxes. The role may assist with the development and delivery of community information programs and projects.
Special Conditions
The provisions of the PSM Act do not apply to this position, however, general Public Service conditions apply and entitlements are transferable.
Negative perceptions of the impartiality of an officer of the House of Assembly have the potential to undermine confidence in that officer. Any person who has, or continues to be, active in political or electoral affairs or who’s behaviour may result in the perception of a political alliance, could compromise the strict political neutrality of this position and could not be considered for appointment. This will include staff appointed by a Minister or employed in an Electorate Office (excluding trainees).
Subject to the current House of Assembly Enterprise Agreement.
Remuneration: ASO-4 ($75,430-$79,070)
