About Us
The County Court of Victoria is established pursuant to the County Court Act 1958. It has original and appellate jurisdiction and is the principal trial court in the State of Victoria. The Court hears over 12,000 criminal, common law, and commercial cases each year. The County Court has unlimited monetary jurisdiction in common law and commercial matters. In its criminal jurisdiction, the Court hears all indictable offences except treason, murder, and related offences.
There are a total of 80 Judges of the Court and over 300 staff, including judicial support staff. The County Court regularly conducts circuit sittings at 12 circuit courts situated in major centres throughout regional Victoria.

About the role
This role is a fixed term contract expiring 8 October 2024.
The Communications Team sits within the Governance, People, Policy and Communications directorate and provides key communications support to all areas of the Court, contributing to the delivery of the Court's strategic objectives with a focus on enhancing community engagement. The Team assists with all kinds of publications, publishes website and intranet content, supports the communications aspects of a variety of programs and projects across the Court, and more. We also provide expert advice across the Court on communications plans and event management.
Reporting to the Manager, Digital and Engagement, this role will engage with a variety of stakeholders across the organisation and justice sector.

Professional stakeholder management skills
The ability to be guided by a communications strategy and editorial and brand guidelines
Experience using content management systems (intranet and website) – Drupal and Confluence experience highly desirable
Desktop publishing proficiency.
Experience in using Adobe Creative Suite (in particular, Photoshop), event management, Google Analytics and EDM platforms, and knowledge of WCAG Guidelines, the legal environment and justice system are also highly desirable.
Experience working in journalism, editorial or communications environments – in government is a bonus.
