Communications and Engagement Coordinator (Internal) – Estate Management

  • Employment Type: Full time (35 hours per week)
  • Duration: Continuing
  • Remuneration: Level 7 $106,351 - $115,103 (depending on experience) +17% super + leave loading
  • Location: Kensington, NSW (flexible hybrid work)

Why your role matters:

The Communications & Engagement Coordinator (Internal) plays a crucial role within Estate Management, to develop and implement effective internal communication plans and contributing to fostering a positive and informed work environment while supporting Estate Management’s goals and initiatives. The Communications & Engagement Coordinator will work closely with the central Internal Communications team in the Division of Societal Impact, Equity & Engagement to ensure communications are professional and consistent.

This position is responsible for managing content across various communication channels and platforms within Estate Management.

The Communications and Engagement Coordinator (Internal) will report to the Executive Officer and has no direct reports.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive internal communication strategy to keep staff informed about divisional goals, initiatives, and updates.
  • Build a library of Estate Management collateral to ensure consistent format, language and styles for presentations, papers, communications (both internal and external) process documentation and submissions, ensuring consistency with the broader University.
  • Develop, curate, and maintain engaging content for the division’s website, intranet, and for Inside UNSW, the University’s internal newsletter.
  • Ensure accuracy, relevance, and consistency of messaging across all communication channels and platforms.
  • Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to gather and create content that aligns with divisional goals.
  • Create and disseminate project-related communications to keep stakeholders informed and engaged.
  • Ensure that project communication strategies align with overall University messaging.
  • Identify key stakeholders and tailor communications to address their needs and concerns.
  • Work with the division and Corporate Communications team to develop and implement targeted communication plans for different stakeholder groups.
  • Facilitate open lines of communication to foster positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Work in tandem with the Change Manager to align communication strategies with change management initiatives.
  • Provide support in communicating changes effectively to internal audiences.
  • Participate in change management activities and contribute to a positive change culture within the department.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of communication strategies through analytics and feedback mechanisms.

Skills and Experience:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification with demonstrated experience or an equivalent level of knowledge gained through any combination of education, training and experience.
  • Demonstrated experience of delivering and measuring internal communications programs that support transformational change within a complex organisational environment.
  • Understanding of the target audience, with a highly effective writing style in high-impact messaging to internal audiences.
  • Demonstrated experience in distilling complex information into simple messages for communication to a diverse group of stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders, to achieve desired outcomes.
