About the opportunity
We are now hiring for a Senior Internal Communications Specialist within our Marketing and Communications team!
The Senior Internal Communications Specialistoffers expert-level insights for University-wide strategic internal communication campaigns and crisis communications. This position will maintain senior stakeholder relationships and monitor channel effectiveness through data-driven insights, driving a cohesive multi-channel approach to communications. They will also collaboratively work with the Media and Public Relations team and colleagues within the Marketing and Communications team on reputational matters.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
Lead the development and analysis of insights into internal audiences and stakeholders to guide campaigns, tactics, and decision-making across the Internal Communications team in support of University strategic objectives
identify and appropriately manage responses to highly sensitive issues that may negatively impact staff, students and/or the University’s reputation. Liaise with senior stakeholders to develop messaging
contribute high-quality audience-driven messaging and content to support the University’s strategic priorities, including building and implementing communications plans for key projects
lead the development and maintenance and encourage the use of effective communications tools and guidance that facilitate communication by leaders and managers across the University, in support of the University’s strategic goals.
About you
Hold a tertiary qualification in a relevant field or a combination of equivalent training and professional experience
professional experience working within the higher education sector or an equivalent large complex organisation
experience with or understanding of the principles of online community building
demonstrated expertise producing engaging and effective content for a range of audiences
demonstrated experience with multi-channel communication campaigns and use of content management systems
ability to work in a fast paced environment and translate information provided from stakeholders on sensitive matters to communications in a tight time frames
ability to establish and maintain strong trusting relationships with stakeholders
previous experience supervising, managing or mentoring junior staff members.
