  • Role based in Parramatta/Sydney (other locations negotiable), with flexible/hybrid working environment.
  • Clerk Grade 9/10, Salary relative to experience, and ranges from $120,859 to $133,183 + super

About the role

As the Communications and Engagement Lead, you'll help develop and execute engagement strategies to capture insights and feedback from diverse stakeholders on our plans to reduce flood risk.

You will initially support the team developing the Hawkesbury-Nepean Valley Disaster Adaptation Plan and existing preparedness and awareness work, including face to face engagement and convening groups of diverse stakeholders for a range of purposes. The role may be required to support future projects in other locations.

What we're looking for a candidate with:

  • Exceptional verbal and written communications skills, with an ability to tailor content for diverse stakeholders
  • Experience working with communities who have been impacted by natural hazards
  • Ability to identify stakeholders and develop, implement, and measure communications projects to support meaningful engagement.
  • Ability to develop communications content and materials suitable for various channels to provide credible, accurate and relevant information to stakeholders.
  • Research and analytical skills to develop communications materials translating technical content.
  • Can act independently to determine day-to-day priorities, negotiate matters related to area of responsibility and makes decisions in relation to the quality of work outcomes.
  • Qualifications in Communications, Media, Engagement, Policy or related field.
