Communications/Engagement Officer

• 3 month contract with potential extension

We're looking for a Senior Engagement Officer to join a Government agency on the Central Coast. If you're looking to widen your experience in the Government sector, and have experience in community engagement, social or market research or communications this could be for you!
What's involved?

• Develop and implement actions and initiatives of the Engagement Framework
• Contribute to the annual Communication Strategy through the delivery of an annual engagement plan
• Manage content responses across multiple engagement channels (social media, telephone, online platforms)
• Oversee the delivery of community meetings, forums, workshops, and online platforms
• Provide high-level engagement advice to business units and oversee community engagement projects
• Research, develop, and implement innovative techniques to engage the community
• Evaluate the effectiveness of community engagement activities and recommend changes
• Perform other duties, tasks, or projects as assigned by your manager

What do we need?

• Extensive experience in community engagement programs for a large organisation
• Ability to apply excellent written and verbal communications skills across a variety of forums, including publications, presentations, forum/workshop facilitation, social media and facilitating online discussions
• Ability to work in a challenging environment of frequent interruption, sensitive issues and political environment
• Outstanding interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills
• Ability to identify stakeholder needs and expectations, determine appropriate action and respond accordingly
• IAP2 Certificate in Public Participation (desirable)
