About the role
In this newly created role, you will play a key role in the activation and delivery of programs and event-based services hosted at the City's brand new Northern Aquatic and Community Hub. The position is involved with all technical aspects of service provision and liaises with event promoters and suppliers to facilitate production and procurement of events and venue operations.
Work type: Temporary Full Time (12 months)
Classification: Band 6 $90,263 - $97,365 (pa plus super)
Key responsibilities include:
  • Take a lead role in the activation of the auditorium space at Northern Aquatic and Community Hub in line with set KPIs.
  • Proactively promote all Northern Aquatic and Community Hub spaces within the community to maximise activation within the broader community.
  • Effectively and efficiently work with user groups and event organisers in the delivery of activities or events particularly focused on technical aspects of the operation.
  • Assist Centre Manager in providing leadership to operations staff and the development of venue operational policy and procedures.
  • Develop facility hire quotes and pricing in line with approved facility fees and charges for events and general facility hire.
  • Coordinate the set-up, pack up and cleaning of the auditorium space, to ensure high level presentation for all events.
About you
The ideal candidate for this role will have a background in Events Management, Venue Management or Project Management (focus on events). You will have experience working to KPI's and timelines, the ability to engage with a diverse rande of people and develop meaningful relationships with stakeholders and the community.
Essential Experience:
  • Experience working in a community, cultural, entertainment and /or performance venue environment and knowledge of related needs.
  • Demonstrated experience in project management, budgeting, and production scheduling in a cultural or entertainment venue.
  • Understanding and knowledge in programming, marketing and promoting a public leisure facility
  • Experience in the planning, delivery, and management of medium to large scale events.
  • Proven successful leadership and management experience.
  • A relevant tertiary qualification in project, event, or venue management or similar field (desirable) or lesser qualifications and substantial experience as below.
  • Current Victorian Working with Children's Check
