Salary Range $79,904 to $89,332 per annum depending on qualifications and experience
Fixed Term, Full Time Position up until May 2025
Flexible work arrangements including working from home

About the Position
An exciting opportunity has become available for a Community & Civic Events Officer. The successful candidate will assist in the coordination of all creative and administration aspects of the development, preparation, planning, organisation and implementation of assigned community and Civic Events.
Other key duties of the role include:
Liaising with internal stakeholders to guide, contribute to and support the development and implementation of events.
Produce council reports, contracts and acquittals for events within the portfolio.
Track the budgets for events.
Ensure strong working relationships with suppliers and stakeholders.
Participate in the development of policies and procedures pertaining to the City’s Civic Events and Festivals portfolio.
Ensure all event concepts are delivered according to sponsorship KPI’s, City objectives and goals.
Utilise effective marketing tools to maximize the promotion of events within the City to ensure public awareness and region profile building.
Develop content for websites and social media channels relevant to the Events and Festivals portfolio.
What are we looking for?
To be successful in this role you will need:
Relevant tertiary qualification in Event Management or related discipline
Demonstrated experience in event management and delivery
Knowledge of government protocol and civic functions
Ability to source and manage contractors, staff and volunteers to deliver quality events
Availability to manage occasional events in the evening and on the weekend
High level of customer service skills
Sound written and verbal communication skills
Sound organisational and time management skills
Well-developed interpersonal skills
Strong commitment to working in a team environment
