Position: Community Centre Coordinator
OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE
Bandi House are seeking a multi-skilled community co-ordinator and administrator for the Baranduda Community Centre who is enthusiastic and passionate about working with a team to create meaningful impact in the community.
About the Role:
- Understand the strengths, aspirations and meet needs of various age groups.
- Support current programs and develop, implement and facilitate new and varied programs responding to the needs of the Baranduda Community.
- Assess, refine and report on programs and community engagement.
- Gathering and share local information and knowledge and staying connected to the wider community happenings and events.
- Advocate for Baranduda Community Centre and its programs.
- Deliver and report on required obligations to funders.
- Seek funding opportunities and develop relationships with current and prospective funders.
- Evaluate and report social impact of individual programs.
- Work with management in the day-to-day activities and administration of the centre.
- Increase participation at the Centre in accordance with vision, mission and plans of the Centre.
- Recruit & supervise volunteers.
- Actively promote Baranduda Community Centre and its programs through existing marketing channels including social media, website and electronic mailings.
- Encourage participation, volunteering and involvement from within the local community.
- Take direction from the Manager and Board.
- Other duties as reasonably required.
Our ideal candidate will:
- Have qualifications in Community Development &/or Administration or other tertiary qualification or relevant experience in a similar role.
- Have experience in developing, planning, budgeting, facilitating, promoting and evaluating community development activities and programs.
- Have the ability to quickly build and maintain effective working relationships, both within the workpace and in the community.
- Have the ability to exercise initiative, set priorities, monitor work flows, exercise sound judgement and pivot where necessary.
- Have good digital skills including social media.
- Have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Have the ability to develop programs.
- Have demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment.
- Understand valid checks will need to be conducted by the employer for: ASIC searches – Bankruptcy register, Banned & Disqualified Persons, Name Search.
- Be required to have or complete current First Aid qualification.
- Be required to have or complete Supervisors Food Handling Certificate.
Desirable
- Experience working with wide range of age groups.
- Experience in community events and programs
