We currently have an exciting role for you to join our Community & Cultural Development Team.
The Community Development Officer – Community Centres is the face of the centre, welcoming community members and connecting them to programs and activities that meet their needs and goals. This role will create opportunity for community capacity building through the coordination of groups and volunteers. You will work proactively in partnership with agencies and groups to ensure the delivery of programs that build skills, social connections and community wellbeing.
Key responsibilities of the position include:
- Ensuring our community facilities are physically, culturally and psychologically safe, are welcoming and accessible to all local communities and stakeholders
- Day-to-day operational activities including, but not limited to, responding to enquiries, facility hire, record keeping, payments and booking confirmations, providing information about other community support organisations in the area and broader council functions
- Growing connectedness between and across participants, visitors, groups, stakeholders, community organisations and others who interact with Community Centres, to support thriving and sustainable communities.
The successful applicant will have:
- Recognised tertiary qualification and/ or commensurate experience in the area of Community Development, community centre operations, or related field
- Working with Children Check or willingness to obtain one
- Certificate in Child Safe Environments or willingness to obtain one
- Current First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain one
- A willingness to work out of hours on a pre-arranged basis
- A current driver’s licence

This is a Level 4 position which has a current salary range of $ 91,772 - $ 98,518 per annum (plus superannuation).
