The newly created Community Engagement Specialist role at MS Queensland plays a vital role in executing the MS Queensland’s statewide Community Engagement strategy. They oversee events like MS Super Splash and Neuro Wellness Hub initiatives, whilst providing valuable support year-round to our Moonlight Walk, World MS Day, and other regional initiatives across Queensland. Building relationships with the community, customers, and supplies to drive awareness, fundraising and service growth in line with MS Queensland strategy.
In this full-time permanent role, work 2 days a week from our brand-new purpose-built workspace nestled at Milton’s Park Road, and accessible by multiple public transport options, join a respectful, supportive, transparent, and collaborative team at MS Queensland where values are at the core.
In this position, you will:- Build and maintain strong relationships with the MS community, champions, supporters, volunteers, and suppliers
- Create outbound call strategies for local champions and event participants in line with business goals
- Report on Community Engagement data promptly
- Organise and attend events to raise awareness of MS services and connect individuals to resources
- Coordinate logistical aspects of various events effectively
- Manage Community Engagement events within budget and meet objectives
- Analyse campaign insights for future improvements
- Set budgets for fundraising activities with stakeholders
About you:
- 3-5 years in stakeholder management, relationship development, or Community Engagement
- Strong communication and trust-building skills with stakeholders
- Experience in events, fundraising, and budget oversight
- Highly organised with project management expertise
- Willingness to travel across Queensland
- Exceptional interpersonal skills for diverse relationships
- Success in engaging communities towards goals
- Skilled in developing strategies aligned with objectives
- Managing complex projects while ensuring resource accountability
- Achieving results through decision-making and problem-solving
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other applications
