About You

As a Community Liaison Officer, you will develop and foster positive relationships with students, staff, parents and the community. The successful applicant will support many cultures and engage with organisations, community members and parents/cares, and also assist with interpreting when needed. This is a 44 hour per fortnight (spread across 4 days per week) temporary position. 

To be successful for this role, you must demonstrate;

  • strong communication skills and the ability to deal sensitively with students, parents/carers and staff when required
  • ability to work effectively both autonomously and as part of a team
  • intermediate computer literacy skills (MS Office and Google suite)
  • interpersonal skills in working with a range of people
  • excellent written and oral communication
  • proven ability to recognise confidential issues as they arise and to treat them with the sensitivity required
  • a willingness to support the inclusive Catholic religious and cultural environment for students
  • other duties as directed by the Principal. 

Essential Criteria

  • previous experience in a school environment
  • experience in current office software packages and competent use of same
  • ability to efficiently communicate in both English and a second language, both written and spoken
  • good communication skills
  • ability to assist College staff with translation in a second language
  • excellent organisational skills
  • pleasant phone manner
  • ability to work within a team environment
  • prepared to participate in further training and professional development when necessary.

Desirable

  • ability to speak, read and write in Arabic.

You will have attained:

  • a Certificate III/ IV (TAFE NSW) or equivalent post-secondary qualification in administration, human resources, finance, accounting or equivalent
  • Employee ID registration number with Sydney Catholic Schools (SCS) or a commitment to Register to Teach in SCS.
