We have an exciting new opportunity for an experienced and competent Community Liaison Officer to join our Destination, Communication and Customer Experience Unit. Working closely with the Parks & Active Communities Unit, you will provide communications and engagement support for the unit's growing programs and infrastructure projects. This includes our park and playgrounds, sports fields and open spaces, aquatic centres and rangers.
The position will liaise and engage with impacted stakeholders, with a focus on increasing community awareness of project outcomes that directly benefit the community. It's a hands-on role working in a busy, deadline driven and responsive environment, alongside great people.
In the role you will:
- work collaboratively across units to engage with internal and external stakeholders, communicate effectively with a broad range of people and manage your time and work priorities
- create traditional, written, digital and social content to raise community awareness of Parks & Active Communities' services and programs
- promote, educate and engage the community about services, programs and projects delivered by our Parks & Active Communities Unit
- foster a deeper appreciation of Council's open spaces and recreation facilities.

We are seeking:
- a motivated worker with a track record in community relations, communications and/or engagement roles
- experience in developing, delivering and evaluating effective engagement and communication plans
- experience in coordinating events such as stakeholder information sessions and official openings
- high level technical and software skills
- excellent interpersonal, communication and conflict resolution skills enabling you to effectively communicate and establish relationships with stakeholders including community, contractors, businesses and government
- a strong customer-focused collaborator, able to build strong relationships and support others
- attention to detail, a flexible approach and work outside of hours on occasions
- a degree or post graduate qualification in communications, public relations, business or similar is desirable.
