About the Position

The City is currently seeking to appoint motivated, engaging, customer focused Community Patrol Officers to join our Community Safety team. Our teamwork with the community to create a safer City by providing a highly visible and responsive service that engages with the community.

We achieve this by:

  • Offering 24 hours 7 days a week service, working week on week off roster (7:7 days and nights).
  • Conducting Community Patrols throughout the City’s 30 unique suburbs.
  • Observing, monitoring and reporting suspicious behaviours to reduce preventable crime.
  • Providing advice and information on various relevant Acts, Regulations and Local Laws.
  • Investigating complaints and actioning solutions for our Community.
  • Collaborating with WA Police as required, sharing relevant information.

Key Responsibilities

To be considered for this position you will have:

  • Security industry or related experience, including experience with Community Patrols, alarm response protocol and using CCTV systems.
  • An understanding of local community safety and security issues.
  • The ability to confidently engage with the community and deal with difficult situations to achieve positive outcomes.
  • Experience in accurately reporting and capturing information in reporting systems.
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to think on your feet and problem solve using professional judgement in a lawful and accountable way.

About You

Essential qualifications include:

  • Certificate II in Security Operations.
  • Valid Western Australian ‘C’ class Driver’s licence.
  • Valid Western Australian Security Officer licence.
  • WA Crowd Controller license.

This permanent full-time position is a Level 5 Inside Workforce Agreement positions which attracts a salary from $74,713.17 – $78,648.24 per annum plus superannuation plus penalties where applicable.

To be eligible to work for us, you need to provide, or have ability obtain a:

  • 100 points of identification.
  • National Police Clearance (valid within the last 3 months).
  • Pre-Employment Medical and DAS clearance.
  • The right to work in Australia.
