Job description

About the Role

The Community Planner provides strategic planning for community infrastructure and community development initiatives to ensure Council is providing quality facilities, programs and activities that enable a healthy, connected, and inclusive community.
The role is responsible for developing, implementing, and reviewing innovative and effective strategies, policies and plans in accordance with Council's delivery program and strategic framework. You will undertake research and data analysis to identify social trends and undertake a neighbourhood-based planning approach across the Maitland Local Government Area.
The position will see you will foster positive relationships with community, key agencies and organisations, and leverage support to deliver initiatives across the local government area. You will also facilitate opportunities for key stakeholder and community input into the planning of community infrastructure, programs and initiatives.
About You
To be successful in this role you will have degree qualifications in planning, public policy or social and behavioral sciences or equivalent industry experience, and will have demonstrated, contemporary experience in the areas of social policy and planning.
In addition, your project management experience, and the ability to research, analyze and utilize information to contribute to strategic plans, reports and policies will allow you to hit the ground running in this role. With strong interpersonal and communication skills, you will have a proven ability to engage with a broad range of stakeholders, and work well with cross functional project teams. You will also possess a valid Working With Children Check clearance.

This is a full-time role with a salary ranging from $91,988 up to $102,128 per year based on previous skills/experience + 11% super.
