The Project
The Utilities business are the preferred contractor on two of the largest energy infrastructure projects within the Australian energy sector, one of these projects is located in Queensland and the other in New South Wales. These two exciting opportunities secure a pipeline of work until 2027 and include the design & construction of new transmission lines and substations.
What will a day in this role look like:
- Lead and manage the implementation of detailed and wide-ranging community engagement programs for the Project. Be a key community representative for UGL on the Project and assist to deliver on our brand purpose to “enlighten” the community through every interaction.
- Forecast, track and report on the Community Engagement Strategy plans and activities for the project
- Identify, mitigate and manage community risks and issues
- Provide communications advice and support project managers which contribute to effective engagement with customers and the community
What are we looking for you to bring to the team:
- A Bachelor of Communications or a relevant discipline (desirable)
- Experience working on large infrastructure projects (utilities, power/transmission experience desirable)
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite of programs
- Experience of commercial, contractual, and legal issues in a construction environment
- Strong communication skills (oral & written), including negotiation and influencing skills, and the ability to establish effective working relationships with a variety of people at different levels, both internally and externally.
