Community Support Services Manager
Grant funded term contracted position till August 2025 with the possibility of extension
Salary up to $151,738.17per annum plus superannuation plus the option of a motor vehicle equalisation allowance ($10,450 per annum) or a lease for private use of a motor vehicle
(Salary package will be assessed based on skills, experience and qualifications).

About the Position
Our Community Support Services Manager leads the delivery of significant services to older people living independently in the community. The role includes management of operational aspects of the business: guiding day to day delivery of quality services; managing customer and staff matters; maintaining assets, such as the community transport fleet; and facilitating adaptation to emerging service needs. It also involves commitment to strategic development and change as part of the Aged Care Reforms.
In this role you will lead a team of 20 people and 130 volunteers, across two business streams: Community Transport and Social Support Services.
What You will be doing:
- Provide expert high level advice on current and emerging issues related to delivery of services to older people and people with disability to senior management, internal and external stakeholders, including funding bodies, peak organisations and other councils .
- Lead and manage the planning and delivery of services for older people, people with disability and their carers across multiple aspects of community transport and social support
- Inform strategic planning and day to day decision making for service quality and sustainability
- Manage complex stakeholder relationships, with internal, external, government and community stakeholders
- Lead and manage a complex Business Unit within a continuously changing environment and contribute to positive organisational culture
- Encourage and create positive working relationships to facilitate a constructive and effective team / Divisional culture and a productive workplace
- Drive a program of continuous improvement across all service areas, targeting appropriate operational efficiency and revenue generation
- Negotiate, procure and manage contracts to support Council’s objectives.
- Undertake community needs assessments through surveys, benchmarking activities, focus groups, public meetings and working parties, which provide data and business intelligence to underpin strategic planning for the Business Unit

You will be an energetic community services practitioner, who has the capabilities and attributes to lead delivery of services to older people living independently in their local community. You will be committed to enablement and empowerment of our service customers and to working to build a shared direction, approaches to practice and ‘can do’ culture with your team.
You’ll have worked within a service context where accountability for the achievement of clearly defined outcomes, to meet the terms of an external contract, is part of your remit.
