About the Role:
As a Support Worker at VHCC, your primary responsibility is to provide compassionate and personalized care to participants in need. This involves assisting clients with various daily activities, promoting their independence, and ensuring their physical and emotional well-being. You will work closely with clients to understand their individual needs and preferences, providing support that is tailored to their unique circumstances.
Key Tasks:
- Assisting clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, grooming, and toileting.
- Providing assistance with mobility, including transferring clients safely and using mobility aids as required.
- Supporting clients with household tasks such as meal preparation, light housekeeping, and laundry.
- Administering medication according to prescribed schedules and documenting client care activities accurately.
- Engaging in meaningful social interactions and companionship with clients, fostering a supportive and nurturing environment.
- Communicating effectively with clients, their families, and healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care and address any concerns or changes in condition promptly.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent qualification.
- Previous experience in support work or related fields preferred but not required.
- Completion of relevant training programs or certifications in aged care, Disability Support, or community services is advantageous.
- Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- NDIS Worker Screening and Working with Children Check.
- First Aid and CPR Certificate.
