What are we looking for?
We are currently looking for compassionate Community Support Workers in the Shoalhaven region, particularly in Ulladulla and surrounds, to join our growing team that supports our in-home aged care clients.
We have a number of positions available (Monday to Sunday, with hours between 7:00am and 8:00pm) and are looking for casual team members to work across a variety of shifts and locations to support delivery of services.
We are looking for workers who have flexible availability across a number of days, ideally with a minimum of 2-3 days - however we are keen to hear from you and discuss your availability.
The role involves:
Providing quality support and client directed care to people over the age of 65, to help them strengthen their capacity to continue living in their own home, including:
Personal care services such as grooming and hygiene, general self care and assistance with dressing as appropriate to client’s capacity;
- Medication support and assistance such as medication reminders, support with Webster packs or insulin and blood pressure checks (with relevant training);
- Community support services such as assistance with daily community interactions and appointments, assistance with grocery shopping, attending outdoor activities and meeting up with social groups;
- Transportation services such as taking clients to medical or personal appointments, collection or drop off at services or shopping;
- Domestic assistance such as meal preparation, cooking of meals, general tidying and assistance around the house such as laundry and making beds.
Unlike other providers, allcare team members are not required to do large blocks of cleaning, as we provide separate professional cleaning services to our clients, we also cover all travel time between clients as well as the reimbursement of kilometres travelled.
To be successful in this role you will have:
- A great attitude with a genuine interest in helping others;
- An understanding of the care needs of older people and a commitment to providing quality care;
- The ability to work independently in an unsupervised environment;
- Previous experience in a similar role (desirable but not essential);
- A valid Drivers Licence and access to a fully insured vehicle;
- A Mobile Phone with Internet access;
- Be willing to undertake a National Police Check History check and have valid working rights in Australia; and
- A minimum of three COVID-10 vaccination doses and are willing to obtain the annual Influenza vaccination.
