Moorditj Koort Aboriginal Corporation (MKAC) is an Aboriginal community controlled, not-for-profit organisation supporting the health and wellness of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples living in Western Australia.

Position summary:
A Community Transport Driver (CTD) provides transport services for the MKAC Integrated Team Care (ITC) and other MKAC programs. They are a pivotal part of how we deliver our programs into the community and an important part of their role is supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to access health and social care services they need. They have strong links into the local Aboriginal community they work. Community Transport Drivers carry out non-clinical tasks, e.g. helping clients to travel to their medical appointments short & long-distance travels.
This position is also key in ensuring the smooth functioning of services delivered within MKAC through engagement and good customer service to the local Aboriginal community and our partners.
Please Note: This role requires long periods and sitting and spending long periods in driving a vehicle.
The successful candidate must have the following essential certifications.
- WA Valid Driver’s license
- Police Clearance no more than 3 months old (Mandatory)
- Working with Children Check
- First Aid or willing to obtain.
- COVID-19 Vaccination Certificate
Skills, Abilities and Knowledge
- Assisting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to travel to and from medical appointments, short & long-distance travels.
- Refueling & maintain clean vehicles.
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with consumers and co-workers.
- Participate in workplace training and staff meetings.
- Promote information to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people about how to access MKAC services.
- Assist the Care Coordinators to identify barriers to health services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
- Complete workload notes after each service provided on MKAC client data base (MMEX)
- Frequent phone calls to clients ensuing their contact details are up-to date, (e.g. Address. number)
