Community Transport Drivers

The Organisation:

TransitCare is a not for profit organisation that provides socially inclusive, safe and reliable transport and support services to assist socially isolated people and people with disabilities to live independently in their own homes and participate in their communities. Main services provided are social and medical transport and activities for clients living in the Brisbane South, Logan and Redlands areas. TransitCare is proud of our recent completion of our Reflect Level RAP. We also manage the delivery of similar services in our Townsville, Cairns and Gold Coast branches. Accredited to ISO 14001 & 9001 we are committed to continuous improvement as we strive toward Best Practice in all areas of our operation. 

We have a permanent full time driving position attached to our Loganlea location. 

The Role:

• Our drivers are the face of the organisation and are ultimately responsible for the delivery of this vital community service. The major components of this role are:
• Operating and maintaining allocated fleet vehicles
• Assisted pick ups and transport for elderly and disabled passengers including some work with manual and electric wheelchairs
• Assisting with transport and carriage of shopping bags and mobility aids
• Operation of computerized trip and GPS system

The Person:

You are a positive, energetic, person with an Open Licence, and a sound knowledge of the Brisbane South, Logan and Redland areas. You will need to have the ability to complete basic written reports clearly and accurately, a clear criminal history and be eligible for a Industry Authority as well as Blue and Yellow Cards. Drivers need to be physically fit and able to undertake annual CPR training. 

This position would ideally suit a person who currently resides in the areas of Manly, Wellington Point, Cleveland, Victoria Point, Thornlands, Alexandra Hills and Capalaba. 

Due to our funding requirements all drivers must be double vaccinated.
