Mackay Community Visitors Association is seeking a casual professional to join our caring and committed team to provide community access for our clients. The successful applicant must hold a qualification in either: Aged Care, Disability, Individual support or Community Service Work.
A current driver’s license and a reliable fully registered and insured motor vehicle is essential. The motor vehicle must be suitable for elderly people to access.
The role involves accompanying our clients to integrate within our local community. This may be accompanying them to activities such as walking, bingo, shopping, bill paying and medical appointments, if assistance is needed. It may be just taking them for a drive so they can get out of the house, or visiting in a clients home to do jigsaws, potter in the garden or just have a coffee and a chat. Or, it could be just checking in on our more vulnerable clients, to ensure they are well and managing everything.
So, many of the elderly, do not have families who live locally and as they age, find some everyday tasks quite challenging. MCVA staff, support our clients to maintain their independents and assist, when its necessary.
