MANAGEMENT ACCOUNTANT / COMPANY SECRETARY – TOWNSVILLE, NORTH QUEENSLAND
The Parkside Group is a family owned & run business, which has been operating for over 75 years.
We are a diversified Company, involved in Hardwood Sawmilling, Timber Manufacturing, Building Supplies, Residential House Construction, Land Development, Property Management & Retirement Living, over a large geographical footprint.
Due to continued growth, we are seeking applicants for a permanent full-time Management Accountant / Company Secretary, to join our team in the Townsville office, where we provide Accounting and Administrative Support to all of our Divisions. This role will report directly to the CFO / Company Secretary.
The successful Applicant must be Degree Qualified in Accounting or Business, or show an equivalent level of experience. They must have a strong work ethic and be able to work both autonomously & as part of the Team. They must be extremely reliable, highly motivated, with exceptional organisational & communication skills & be able to quickly adapt to a fast paced work environment, where priorities & tasks can change frequently.
Day-to-day responsibilities of this Role include:-
- Provide accurate management reporting to assist with key decision making
- Assist with continual improvement of the processes and reporting within the business
- Participate in planning and budgeting processes
- Provide high level support and ensure accuracy of financial information
- Analyse financial information to assist business profitability and growth
- Assist in preparation and lodgement of FBT and Income tax returns
- Assist in regulatory requirements of the Group, including Company Secretarial tasks
- Understanding of BAS & IAS requirements
- Understanding of Assets & Depreciation
Knowledge, Skill and Abilities required for this Role include: -
- Ability to comprehend complex issues with a very analytical approach
- Being responsive and flexible, whilst using your well-developed accounting skills to meet organisational demands, decision making and regular reporting
- Excellent time management and organisational skills
- Attention to detail and the ability to retain a high level of accuracy, whilst working on multiple tasks
- Strong mathematical and analytical aptitude and data analysis skills
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills are essential & any exposure to other IT software / databases, should be listed
- Supervision / Management of staff
Remuneration will be dependent on experience and qualifications.
