Our Institutional Banking and Markets (IB&M) and Group Treasury Compliance team is responsible for ensuring IB&M and Group Treasury understand their licensing and regulatory requirements and have appropriate compliance strategies and frameworks in place to manage their obligations. In delivering these services our key aim is to support Business Units achieving their strategic goals including amongst many things, operating within their respective Risk Appetites.
This role will report into the Head of Private Side Compliance Advisory, including coverage of IB&M's Debt Capital Markets, Syndicate Desk, Client Coverage, Capital Structuring and Quant, Data, Analytics and Technology Transformation (including Data Analytics and Investment Research) teams. As a Compliance Manager you'll support sustainable business growth across IB&M through regulatory obligation and policy advisory, product and business activity review and approval, risk profile challenge and approval, regulatory engagement, and regulatory reform advisory.
As a line 2 role, you will work closely with the Business (including Conduct and Line 1 Risk Management), other Risk functions (Operational Risk, Market Risk, Credit) and other functions, which support the business.
The role will also provide advice and challenge to Line 1 and business stakeholders on whether the business is appropriately meeting its compliance obligations either by day-to-day challenge or in forums and projects.
We're interested in hearing from people who have;
- Tertiary qualifications in legal, finance or other related fields
- Demonstrated experience in financial services or other relevant experience coupled with experience in Compliance and the Australian Regulatory Environment.
- Strong team work focus with excellence in driving results.
- Experience in successfully independently communicating with and influencing your peers and senior management.
- Familiarity and knowledge of the financial services regulatory environment.
- A commercial mind, able to balance Compliance considerations and business strategy.
- Experience in financial services investigations or analysis advantageous.
