We are seeking a Compliance Superintendent to play a crucial role in supporting our operations at Maules Creek Coal. Working closely with the Mining Engineering Manager and HSEC team, you will ensure site compliance to legislation and the site Safety Management System. This is a pivotal role contributing to the ongoing safety and success of our operation.This is a site-based role (Gunnedah, NSW) working a 9-day fortnight. Relocation assistance & temporary accommodation is supplied.
What You'll Do
Bringing a sound knowledge of industry best practice and regulatory requirements, key responsibilities will include;
Monitor and review of the Health Safety Management Systems to ensure compliance
Facilitate ICAMS and other investigations to determine root cause of incidents
Collaborate with the legal team and maintain effective relationships with all stakeholders of Whitehaven Coal
Manage and facilitate the site WHS committee meetings and external authority visits
Support the development of a safety culture where safety is an integral part of the way we work
Manage expenditure in alignment with allocated budgets and identify opportunities to reduce costs
What You'll Bring
Ideally relevant tertiary qualifications in Health and Safety and extensive relevant experience (preferably in the mining industry) OR Open Cut Examiner qualifications
Understanding of NSW WHS Mines and Petroleum Act and Regulations
ICAM qualification and investigation facilitation experience
Highly developed presentation and project management skills

Live local to the area or willingness to relocate (assistance provided)
