Job Description:
As a Computer Network and Systems Engineer at the Islamic College Of Melbourne, you will play a critical role in maintaining and enhancing our IT infrastructure. Your expertise will ensure the smooth operation of our Network and Systems, supporting our staff and students in their daily activities. You will work closely with our IT team to implement robust solutions, troubleshoot issues, and optimize our technological capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze, develop, and evaluate complex system designs to enhance the college's computer systems.
- Monitor and optimize network infrastructure for optimal educational and administrative performance.
- Recommend and implement improvements to network operations and system integrations.
- Provide expert support for network troubleshooting and emergencies.
- Install, configure, and maintain networks, servers, and software applications.
- Develop and implement network solutions tailored to the college's needs.
- Maintain thorough documentation of network inventory and resolutions.
- Monitor network performance to ensure reliability and efficiency.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls.
- Provide technical support and training to staff and students.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in Network and Systems Engineering.
- Proficiency in configuring and managing routers, switches, firewalls, and other network devices.
- Strong knowledge of network protocols, VPNs, and security configurations.
- Experience with Windows and Linux server administration.
- Familiarity with cloud services and virtualization technologies.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
