Our Cadia Dewatering Facility is located in the Central West of New South Wales, approximately 2 kilometres outside the vibrant regional town of Blayney, and 3 hours drive from Sydney. Employees reside in the varied accommodation options in Blayney, Orange or Bathurst.
Employees have access to the area’s wide range of amenities, including a prominent health sector, excellent educational facilities, shopping, transport, and other services such as childcare.
Who we are looking for
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to fill this entry level position. The successful applicant will support the Final Product Department to operate in a safe and efficient manner, to meet production targets while maintaining equipment integrity. Reporting to the Cadia Dewatering Facility Supervisor, the role is specifically focused on ensuring the filter presses and associated equipment operate at the required throughput and uptime.
Other key responsibilities include:
- Ensuring all safety incidents and hazards are reported, documented and learned from.
- Participating in shift handover meetings and providing quality information and direction to the incoming shift.
- Completion of all pre-start checks on mobile equipment/vehicles and other equipment requiring prestart checks.
- Container and train loading using a front-end loader and reach stacker or forklift respectively.
- Assisting the shift fitter in performing maintenance tasks.
- Compliance to the daily, weekly and shutdown plans.
To succeed in this role, you will be an inspiring team player with an excellent work ethic and a can-do attitude. While you will appreciate being part of a collaborative team, you will also enjoy working autonomously and being in control of your own work and output. Your sound judgment, problem solving, and decision making skills will further enable you to work across multiple disciplines and understand the various facets of the business structure.
In addition, you will also ideally have:
- Forklift ticket desirable
- Familiarity with the MS Office suite of programs
- The ability to multitask in high pressure situations
- A strong drive to learn, build better habits and influence your team
- An open mind, receptive to feedback
