Our client, based in Roxby Downs is seeking an experienced concreter to work on-site at Olympic Dam. The purpose of your role placing, finishing, protecting and repairing concrete for minor civil construction projects. You will be working with a dedicated team of employees and with a company that offers career advancement opportunities. The position will commence on a casual ongoing basis.
Key duties include:
Read and understand drawings and specifications to undertake task
Prepare and set formwork to required levels
Operate a screed to level freshly placed concrete according to grade and depth specification.
Smooth concrete surface using either a hand trowel, long handled bull float or powered float
Cut joints, grooves in concrete with edging tools to help control cracking
Apply hardening and sealing components to cure surfaces when required
General labouring duties
Skills required for the position:
Able to work in a fast-paced environment
Construction white card
Good attention to detail and quality control
Ideally past experience as a concreter
Ability to use hand and power tools
Must have strong work ethic
A good, positive attitude towards work
