Concreter/Pipe Layer (Rural)

The Opportunity

Lithgow City Council has an exciting opportunity for a Concreter/Pipe Layerto join their Rural Works team in Lithgow, NSW.

Reporting to the Rural Works Coordinator, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repairs and the construction of Council's infrastructure and assets as required.

More specifically, your duties will include (but will not be limited to):

• Produce concrete structures including footpaths, drives and retaining walls
• Construction and maintenance of concrete footpaths and driveways, stormwater pits, headwalls and inlets and laying of stormwater pipes, kerbs and guttering
• Setting up general formwork, steel fixing, pouring and finishing concrete
• Maintain, repair and construct Council fences including man proof fences, security fences, brick fences, timber fences and gate
• Installation and repair of footpath paving
• Set up traffic procedures, maintain traffic flow and report traffic problems

About you

The successful candidate will meet the following criteria:

• Class C Drivers Licence
• WHS Induction for General construction Ticket (Whitecard)
• Traffic Control Ticket (Stop/Slow)
• Traffic Control Ticket (Implement Traffic Control Plans)
• Experience in setting up and completing general concrete works
• Demonstrated commitment to the principles of honesty and integrity
• Demonstrated commitment to and understanding of Work Health and Safety

In addition, an ideal candidate would have a Chainsaw ticket, First Aid certificate and experience setting out works using a survey level.

• Between $1,069.09 and $1,182.00 per week, commensurate with your skills, qualifications and experience
