Configuration Officer

Randstad is currently working with a top tier Defence company who is looking for an experienced Configuration Officer to manage technical engineering data as per the company’s data management system and configuration management plan.
This is a permanent full-time opportunity based in Sydney.
The candidate must be an Australian citizen and must be eligible for a Defence Security Clearance.
About the Role

• Use the company’s configuration management system to record, store, retrieve, and update project related engineering data and information.
• Record technical data in proper categories as per the configuration management plan.
• Manage approved changes to the approved Class Configuration Baseline (CBL).
• Support the engineering team in use of configuration management systems and softwares.
• Be familiar with project documentation, and engineering drawings that are linked to the correct configuration management system, and maintain documents register.
• Identify Configuration Management problems related to Data and Documentation Control, and communicate with stakeholders to resolve the identified issues in a timely manner.

About you

• Prior experience or certification in configuration management.
• Proven engineering data management experience for complex projects.
• Prior experience in using databases such as CMTU and Jira.
• Knowledge of Asset Management and Planning System (AMPS) and Windchill software is desirable.
• Familiarity with systems engineering processes within a defence environment.
• Strong communication skills and ability to relay complex technical information to stakeholders in a simple manner.
• Attention to detail and ability to work independently in a highly demanding environment.
