Job Description: Hoarding Installer
Position Overview:
A Hoarding Installer is responsible for the setup, maintenance, and removal of temporary Construction Hoarding or barriers on job sites. This position plays a crucial role in maintaining safety, security, and privacy for construction projects while minimizing disruptions to the surrounding environment. The Hoarding Installer must possess practical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Hoarding Installation: Erect temporary hoarding structures around construction sites using appropriate materials, tools, and techniques. This involves measuring and cutting materials to size, assembling frames, and securing panels in place to create a sturdy barrier.
- Maintenance and Repair: Perform regular inspections of hoarding structures to identify and address any damage, deterioration, or safety concerns. Conduct repairs or replacements of damaged panels, frames, or supports to ensure the integrity and stability of the hoaarding.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety regulations and guidelines during hoarding installation, maintenance, and removal activities. Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), follow safe work practices, and maintain awareness of potential hazards to prevent accidents or injuries on the job site.
- Communication and Coordination: Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure timely completion of hoarding-related tasks.
- Environmental Considerations: Minimize the environmental impact of hoarding installation and removal activities by implementing sustainable practices, recycling materials whenever possible, and properly disposing of waste according to regulations.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of hoarding installation and maintenance activities, including work orders, inspection reports, and inventory records. Report any issues, incidents, or deviations from project requirements to supervisors or project managers promptly.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Appropriate licensing i.e. Truck License, construction induction, forklift licence.
- Experience in building Hoardings,Fencing or Stageing/ Event props and fixtures is ideal but anyone who has some carpentry skills will be able with minimal training to become quickly proficient.
- Proficiency in using hand and power tools commonly used in construction and carpentry work.
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans
- Attention to detail to ensure the quality and integrity of hoarding installations.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with team members and interact with clients or stakeholders in a fast paced working environment.
- Commitment to safety and compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation may be required depending on the job location and requirements.
Working Conditions:
Hoarding installers typically work in operating Shopping Centres or Construction sites . The job may involve physical exertion, working at heights, and exposure to noise, dust, and other environmental hazards. Work hours are typically night shift 6pm - 6am but may vary depending on project schedules and deadlines, including early mornings, evenings, weekends.
