AddressBoilermaker/Rigger – Lead Site Installer of Structural Steel
SJC Engineering is a structural steel fabricator and installer, based in Crestmead. Projects comprise a range of commercial builds including schools, shopping centres, train stations and warehouses. Work sites are predominantly in the Brisbane region; however SJC Engineering has travelled to Cairns, Warwick and Sydney for our preferred Builders.
The Role:
Experienced structural steel installer required to work with and run site installation teams of 2-4 riggers and labourers. You will be proficient in all areas of structural steel installation and preferably have a boilermaker trade certificate or welding qualifications. This role is suitable for someone who is a leader, someone who is self-driven, and client focused who will show integrity when dealing with team members and clients.
The successful applicant will have the use of an equipped company vehicle to drive to and from the job sites in addition to use of all company tools within the ute. Tolls and fuel are covered by the company.
Your duties will include;
- Read & interpret drawings from paper and iPad
- Mark & set out a job
- Drilling and installing chemical fasteners
- Rigging and installing structural steel
- Site welding as required
- Problem solving and escalating issues to Project Manager
- Daily reporting to relevant stakeholders
- Co-ordination with clients & other subcontractors
You must possess the following skills and attributes:
- Minimum two years installation of structural steel experience.
- Trade qualification (Boilermaker) – preferred, and/or licenced and experienced rigger
- Competent with Stick welding - preferred
- Ability to read and understand drawings.
- Ability to mark & set out
- Fit & motivated to work
- Have the ability to organise your daily tasks and lead the team
- Show initiative within the workplace and commitment to safety
- Have a high attention to detail within your workmanship
Tickets/licences required:
- Current drivers license
- Working at Heights
- E.W.P. above 11m advantageous
- Scissor lift yellow card
- Construction White card
- Dogman & /or Rigger
- Trade qualified boilermaker
