The Opportunity:
Our client is currently seeking an experienced Construction Manager to join their small high performing team to manage the following sub teams and business functions.
- Trade teams
- Housing Project & building maintenance.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and direct construction activities from start to finish.
- Review the projects in-depth to schedule deliverables.
- Oversee all onsite activities to monitor compliance with building and safety regulations.
- Coordinate and direct construction workers and subcontractors.
- Procure plant, tools, materials and equipment as required.
- Meet contractual conditions of performance.
- Review the work progress on a regular basis.
- Prepare internal and external reports relating to the job status.
- Plan ahead to prevent problems and resolve any emerging ones.
- Negotiate terms of agreements, draft contracts and obtain permits and licences
- Analyse, manage and mitigate risks.
- Ensure quality construction standards and the use of proper construction techniques.
Essential skills needed:
- Fundamentally you will have an unwavering commitment to quality and safety.
- You will have proven experience in construction/project management or experience as a site Supervisor or similar.
- Advanced knowledge of construction management processes, means and methods
- Expert knowledge of building products, construction details and relevant rules, Regulations and quality Standards.
- Competent in conflict mitigation and management.
- Excellent time and project management skills.
- Strong focus on job cost control and safety.
- Ability to operate equally well at both a strategic and hands-on operational level.
- Executive experience of leading a team; empowering them to deliver exceptional results.
- Business acumen gained from creating or managing a commercial environment, managing costs, delivery and priority outcomes.
- Proven skills in Microsoft Office (including Outlook, Word, Excel).
- Highly developed written and oral communication skills.
- Experience with construction scheduling, job costing and task management software.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Relevant experience 5+ years
- Qualifications in Construction and QBCC Builders Licence (mandatory)
- Post graduate qualifications will be highly regarded.
- White Card.
- Team Leadership Experience.
- Workbench & ClickUp an advantage.
- Current Drivers Licence.
