An experienced CONSTRUCTION MANAGER is required for an industrial site build in Lutana, Tasmania.

Your new role
Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, you'll be the client side representative for this project. You'll be responsible for the management and control of daily construction activities to help deliver a new building development. As this development is adjacent to an operating site, brownfield construction experience will be highly regarded. In addition, you'll be responsible for:
- Supervising the construction process and contractor management
- Review and report on construction activities and progress documentation
- Implement and ensure compliance to company safety systems
- Problem-solving with regards to construction deficiencies
- Ensure compliance with construction contracts, costings and plans
- Reporting on construction progress
- Management of project transition from commencement, construction, commissioning and handover.
What you'll need to succeed
Ideally, your experience covers civil works, demolition, foundations, construction, installation of industrial equipment & piping, and electrical. Results focussed, solution driven and collaborative, your background also includes:
- Project construction experience in either industrial gas, petro-chemical or mining
- Relevant degree in mechanical, electrical or chemical engineering or construction
- Knowledge of construction methods and plans
- Decision-making and problem-solving skills
- Communication with stakeholders
- Experience with safety in the building industry
- Technical knowledge and regulatory requirements of hazardous areas, pressure vessels, piping and planning permits
- Strong computer and software skills.
This project is estimated at a minimum of 6 months, over which time you will be employed on a casual basis through Hays and will receive an hourly rate commensurate with your skills and experience.
