Early Childhood Australia is the national peak advocacy body for Early Childhood in Australia. Be You is Australia’s national Mental Health in education initiative delivered by Beyond Blue in collaboration with Early Childhood Australia and headspace. Be You aims to transform Australia’s approach to supporting Mental Health in early learning services and schools. About the role
Be You Consultants are the human face of Be You. Working primarily online, they provide tailored implementation support to learning communities, support adaptation of the Be You framework to diverse contexts, and help our audience translate knowledge into practice. In doing so, Consultants support learning communities to make positive, meaningful and sustainable change around Mental Health and wellbeing. Be You empowers educators, helping them to develop valuable Mental Health skills and knowledge, while also providing an effective model for implementing a whole-learning community approach to Mental Health and wellbeing.
We are seeking applications for a fixed term 12 month parental leave replacement position. The position can be located in Sydney or Brisbane.

As a Be You Consultant you will:
- Provide tailored implementation support to learning communities
- Partner for scalability
- Deliver responsive professional development
- Use data to drive impact
About You
To be considered for this role you must meet the following selection criteria
- Bachelor or postgraduate qualifications in Early Childhood education and/or Mental Health (such as psychology, social work or other related health profession)
- Knowledge and experience in child development and children’s Mental Health, including understanding of contemporary issues in the Early Childhood, education and Mental Health sectors, and knowledge of how early learning and school age care services operate
- Experience in strengths-based facilitation, coaching, mentoring and/or session delivery to support practice change
- Confidence and competence using digital technologies to record and analyse data, manage workflows and stay connected with colleagues and users
- Commitment to equity and social justice, including principles of reconciliation, diversity and inclusion
- Capacity to plan, prioritise and manage a complex workload with a significant public-facing component
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
