The Organisation
You will be working at the southern area's largest hospital that provides medical services for people living in the southern metropolitan area of Adelaide. The emergency department is open 24 hours, seven days a week. It is the obstetric trauma centre for South Australia, a designated state trauma centre, and an ACEM accredited Mixed and Paediatric ED. It is one of the busiest in South Australia, with approximately 85,000 - 90,000 attendances per year from newborn to geriatrics.
The hospital is co-located with the Flinders University School of Medicine and Flinders Private Hospital.
It is one of two major trauma centres in the state with around-the-clock emergency retrieval service bringing patients to the hospital by road or helicopter.
The Job
ED Consultants will join a high-performing multi-disciplinary team that prides itself on teamwork, communication and excellence in Emergency Care
You will have the opportunity to utilise your experience and knowledge to provide vital supervision, support and education to senior medical practitioners, trainee medical officers, medical students in the unit, as well as other staff training
You will work in a fantastic team of highly regarded FACEMs/PEMs who have a depth of expertise in trauma, paediatrics, research, well-being, leadership and training
You will be responsible for the provision of high-quality clinical service and clinical leadership
Opportunity to participate in and contribute to the academic life of the Emergency Department by conducting research, participating in research discussions and contributing to the supervision of postgraduate students

Requirements
Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Emergency Medicine (FACEM) or equivalent
