  • Total Indicative Remuneration: $351,503 - $790,258 p.a. (pro rata) – MD2
  • Temporary Part-Time, up to 12 months (Multiple Positions)

The Northern Adelaide Local Health Network (NALHN) provides care for more than 400,000 people living in the northern metropolitan area of Adelaide and boasts newly redeveloped wards and Emergency and Outpatient Departments, with plans for the addition of more brand-new facilities in the near future. Our Local Health Network Sites and Services:

Lyell McEwin Hospital – The major hospital in the north and north-east for emergency care, complex and multi-day surgery, medicine, obstetrics, paediatrics and outpatient services.

Modbury Hospital – A general hospital with emergency care, elective surgery, medicine, outpatient and sub-acute services, rehabilitation, geriatric and palliative care.

About You:

You will be part of a growing Local Health Network (LHN) that provides an expanding suite of treatment modalities in contemporary, modern facilities. 

About the Role:

An exciting opportunity is presented to work within the Northern Adelaide Local Health Network as a Consultant - General Medicine within the Division of Medicine.

As a Consultant you will be responsible for the provision of an effective General Medical Service within the objectives and the philosophies of the Hospital.

Key responsibilities of this role include:

  • provision of medical care to public inpatients and outpatients. 
  • provision of training and supervision to undergraduate and post graduate medical trainees.
  • encouraging and supporting team work amongst staff for optimal clinical service outcomes.
  • participation in quality, safety and clinical risk management activities.
  • involvement in continuing professional development activities.

To be eligible for this position, you must hold a Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent. Appropriate Specialist Qualifications and registrable with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner with Specialist registration; or another qualification as defined in the SA Medical Officers Award.

The Total Indicative Remuneration figure is calculated taking into account base salary, leave loading and superannuation as well as managerial allowances, professional development or any other allowances where appropriate.

Appointment will be subject to a satisfactory Criminal History Check.
