Consultant Optometrist, Low Vision Clinic

The role:As a member of a multidisciplinary team, the Consultant Optometrist, Low Vision Clinic provides efficient, effective and high quality optometric care to patients attending the Royal Hobart Hospital (RHH) Eye Clinic. This includes:

• Participating in paediatric optometric care outside of the Eye clinic as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Providing optometric care to both the Eye Clinic's inpatients and outpatients
• Contributing to policy and procedure development to support the Eye Clinic's service delivery objectives.

Salary:$120,114 - $130,181 pro-rata per annum. Our Employer 11% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.You'll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:

• Please note that access to salaries beyond $126,845 is subject to qualifications and/or application to the personal upgrade scheme
• Salary range is in accordance with Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement

Eligibility:Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:Registered with the Optometry Board of AustraliaApplicants should note the following criteria are desirable:Membership of the Optometrists Association Australia or able to demonstrate the same level of professional indemnity insurance coverEndorsed for scheduled medicines by the Optometry Board of Australia as part of general registration and endorsed as a Participating Optometrist under the Federal Government's 'Common Form of Undertaking' under the Health Insurance Act 1973 (as amended)The Head of the State Service has determined that the person nominated for this job is to satisfy a pre-employment check before taking up the appointment, on promotion or transfer. The following checks are to be conducted: * Conviction checks in the following areas:

• crimes of violence
• sex related offences
• serious drug offences
• crimes involving dishonesty
• Identification check
• Disciplinary action in previous employment check.
