This regional health service serves a population of more than 290,000. The hospital has 300 beds and provides a range of services including mental health, emergency, surgery, women's health and paediatrics. As a teaching hospital, the health service is closely affiliated with Monash University’s School of Rural Health and other local universities.
The hospital specialises in general surgery, orthopaedic, ophthalmology, gynaecology and obstetrics as well as ear, nose and throat surgery and urology. Recent expansion has delivered three new operating suites, 44 inpatient beds and 14 medical and surgical beds.
The Job
- The Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon is responsible for the provision of Orthopaedic services
- You will provide routine and emergency Orthopaedic care and offer a consultative service to other senior medical staff and emergency department medical staff
- You will have the opportunity to provide clinical leadership and supervision/teaching for junior medical staff as well as other clinical staff
- As a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon, you will assist the executive and senior management team in strategic and service development issues
- You will promote and develop clinical research activities within the department

Requirements
- Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS), or equivalent
