The Opportunity
We are seeking a Consultant to join our Strategic Commercial Advisory team, based in either our Sydney or Brisbane office. HKA’s Strategic Commercial Advisory business provides advice to a range of organisations from large government entities and developers, through to construction and engineering contractors. We have a high demand to expand our services with our infrastructure clients operating in the road, rail, social infrastructure and utilities sectors.
In this role you will have exposure to our different service lines including Strategic Advisory, Procurement, Commercial Management, and Supply Chain Optimisation.
As a consultant, you will work on a variety of tasks across multiple projects including but not limited to the following:
- Assisting in the development of commercial strategies and presentations for major infrastructure portfolios, programs and projects
- Development of procurement strategies including packaging, contract and commercial models and route to market recommendations.
- Transaction Management including preparation of tender documentation, management of tender implementation processes, assisting clients with tender evaluations and selection.
- Contribute to the development of market-leading collaborative contracting approaches.
- Working alongside key stakeholders from major infrastructure clients.
- Business development activities to maintain relationships with existing clients and forge new relationships.
Skills and Experience
We are seeking passionate, commercially minded individuals with diverse backgrounds, who have a willingness to learn and develop.
Ideally you will possess some or all of the following skills and experience:
- Degree qualified in any related discipline, including but not limited to Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Procurement, Accounting, Commerce, Quantity Surveying.
- Strategically minded, with the ability to take initiative and eagerness to grow and develop with the organisation.
- Ideally coming from the commercial, procurement or built environment sector. Experience from commercial strategy, contracts administration and project engineering environments are also desirable.
- Competence with Microsoft Office Suite, in particular PowerPoint and Word.
- Proficiency in presenting information clearly, both written and verbal.
- Experience working with stakeholders with the ability to develop and maintain relationships.
- Ability to prioritise and manage own time in an environment with several competing requirements.
