Job description

The Role:
We are seeking interest from suitably qualified Specialist General Physicians to join an established team in a large tertiary referral hospital.

The Department of General and Internal Medicine is the largest inpatient medical unit at the Hospital providing holistic care to 100-120 inpatients across 5 General Medical teams including a Rapid Assessment Medical Unit. Our team consists of 15 full-time and part-time consultants with a variety of different special interests as well as dual training.

Duties:

  • Provide a consultant role in General Medicine.
  • Provide inpatient and outpatient care to public and private patients of the Royal Hobart Hospital (RHH) in General Medicine.
  • Be involved in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, and to be actively involved in research.
  • Undertake quality improvement activities.
  • Participate in an afterhours Consultants on call roster for General Internal Medicine.
  • Staff specialists are actively involved in the training of basic and advanced physician trainees, as well as the supervision of international medical graduates.

Essential Requirements
